We are at 10 weeks straight now with Sky's headache. School was out friday, thankfully! She ended up with 21 absences! Technically she was not supposed to pass after 18 absences.....but she she managed to end the yr with A's and B's AND those absences, being in advanced classes and an Honor student, they made an exception! I am SO thankful, she would have been devestated!
Skylar has been taken off all her meds for now.....trying to see if any of it actually helps.....we are seeing her seizure meds may actually be helping! Her pain has not stopped at all, on a scale from 1-10, 1 being a normal headache, 10 is in the hospital, she stays at a 5 with an increase at least 1-2 times a week. Well, since coming off the meds, she seems to be staying in the 6-7 range.....so....we r going to talk to her neurologist monday about going back on and increasing the does and see if it helps.......we are wainting to hear from insurance about covering the next attempt to stop the pain.....it 31 BOTOX injections in her face and neck, in ONE visit. This is not a decision made lightly and Sky was part of the decision making. We spent a month researching it and left it up to skylar. She is so tire of hurting and said yes. Im so SCARED!
Anyway, we are not any closer to answers now then we were 2 months ago. PLEASE keep praying for her and PLEASE like and share her page we created.
