2012 REAL Christmas Baby Swap!

Sharon.......necessity is the mother of invention for sure!

I have my rooting about 1/2 done. I broke the last of my really good needles and have tried to use something else that was sold me in exchange...NOT! So......just got some new needles of the right kind yesterday from Stephanie Sullivan so should be good to go tonight. I root in the evening when the TV is on. I love to root but until recently was not too fond of the results. LOL
After hair, just assembly, dress ups, pictures and then packed up for Mama. YEAH!!!!

My swap baby is almost done being painted. Still need to add a few details. I'm loving how baby is turning out. I should have plenty of time to get that rooting done.

I have a glitch in my swap baby......I have managed to organize the mohair somewhere.....it is definitely safe! I did this one other time and actually had just recovered it and wasn' going to misplace it again ever......well here we are.....lost again!

Will update as the hunt continues......

Joy, I put all my mohair in a plastic shoe case so I always have it in one place. The shoebox is a little harder to misplace than if I put it in a drawer here and a drawer there(which is what I used to do). I'm not completely organized but I did put my hair in one box, eyes and lashes in another bin, hair bows, etc.

I have misplaced so much stuff. I took about 4yrs off from making dolls and when I wanted to get back into it I couldn't find anything!!! As I found or replaced stuff I have it organized all on my changing table. That way it is all in one place........except my work area is not near my changing table so then I start misplacing things again!!

I am almost ready to move on to hair now! I spent multiple days last week painting almost non stop and evening through the night.....I have so many babies going! lol But I am almost caught up with all of them and even have my swap babies ahead of schedule a bit!

It is in a see thru small tote a little bigger than a shoe box with a very nice bright colored lid so I can't miss it! roflmbo!

It will turn up .....just hope it is in time for the deadlines. AND I have 2 other heads here that need to have hair! LOL

I have a very difficult time when it comes to walking or standing, so my home has been "mankept" for years. I try to just breathe and overlook most of the time. BUT this is unforgivable!!!! Tom is now blaming Jared our 14 yr old grandson who stays every weekend with us! Now that I think about it.....it could have been Jared.....hmmmmmmmmmm

ANYWAY.......got it! Are you all doing belly plates for your swap babies? Just curious.

I am not doing a belly plate, honestly didn't think about that. I have put another layer on baby and oh am I in love!!! Thankfully our power has held up so I could work on baby some more!!!

I am not doing a belly plate either! I honestly never thought of it until AFTER my baby was all painted... in other words, to late! BUT, I DID think about it!

No belly plate here either. I have only painted 1 belly Plate in the 3 years I have been reborning. I don't ever really think about it unless it comes with the kit.

Your baby is suppose to be created however your swap partners questionnaire specifies. If she said she wanted rooted, you should root, if painted you should paint. Some people leave it up to the artist as a surprise. If you are unsure what your partner wants just ask Sharon :)

It's what ever your partner would like. If they don't have a preference you can do which ever you feel comfortable doing.

If you have specific questions just ask me and I'll find out from your lady and let you know!

Completely finished painting. About to begin rooting. Woo hoo! I should be completely done with baby by next Friday. Yay!!!

Same here ... should start rooting next week! Then a couple of sewing projects and she'll be ready!

Joy, get some labels and mark everything REBORN and then instruct the "men" that if they feel the need to clean up your REBORN stuff that it goes in a specific place. Robin refuses to touch anything of mine that is REBORN.

I *think* I am finished with baby. I have to do a magnet still but baby is otherwise done. Oh and I am in love!!! I am glad I have time to cuddle baby before shipping!! I think this one is one of my bests so far!!!

Oh my gosh..how fun!! This will be such a treat to see all the babies in a couple weeks!! I'll have to be sure and get in on this next year..SO COOL!!

I cant wait for mailing to begin! I am excited for my little one to go home to their new mommy!!!! Come on December 10th!!!!

Now to dress and fuss and take pictures and then pack up for a LONG LONG trip!

Baby has a nice personality, hasn't cried once even while getting rooted! And Baby loves to be held and cuddled.
I think Baby will fit in nicely in the new home with a new mama!

OK Mama.........those Braxton Hicks contractions you have been feeling off and on may just be foretelling the REAL thing
soon!

Rachel, I filled our house with babies..........REAL ONES!!! Tell your husband that after all it could be worse.......real ones are so LOUD! LOL

Sign ups were back in September and we already have our swap partners so its too late for this swap. When the new year comes, there is usually a sign up for the Mothers day swap so you should keep an eye out for sign ups

Especially the heartburn! Actually had to take some Tums last night before bed.

I have the cradle ready and have discussed with the kitten that thought i was doing it for him that it was for a new baby doll not a kitty baby. He fluffed his way out of the room in a flurry of orange fur! LOL

I think I am having some Braxton Hicks too......but since all my babies are always at least 2 weeks late, I doubt that they will do anything. Besides with Christmas so close I am hurrying with presents (31 pair of jammy pants and hats and slippers and scarves) so really don't have time to deliver yet! LOL

Ok Mamas to Be.........get your Christmas stuff under control so that when Baby comes you can just sit and rock and not feel guilty!

haha you guys are too funny! I thought about buying a new outfit for my little baby to be, but I'm not sure what I'm expecting, boy or girl. I really don't remember what I filled out on the questionnaire lol so this little one will just be a big surprise, like it should be :)

I finally finished the 2 other pressing projects I was working on (donation tree (100+ hand made ornaments) and custom baby) so I got to finish rooting swap baby! So now baby just needs hair glued and put together.

Does anyone else buy random bits of stuff and have no idea why then bam you walk into somewhere and fine exactly what should go with it? I have been searching and searching for the right outfit for baby to meet new momma in and ran right into it when I wasn't even looking and I happened to have these little bits that finished it off perfectly... and I didn't know why I was buying them at the time.

Wooooot wooooot!!!!! Baby is done!!!!!!!! Momma's contractions will be starting soon!!!!!! I am sooooooooo pleased with baby!!!!!!!! Hope momma is too!!!!!!!

Sometimes I am able to do that, but it usually takes months to pull them together. It does feel good when it all comes out matching though!

I have usually lost them all by the time anything could be needed. Heck I lost the mohair between the living room and the puter room.
But it does make housecleaning a bit of fun! It is like all things are new again! LOL

Joy....you crack me up!!!

I usually remember what I have... just not exactly where it is... mostly it's in one room but when I'm working on stuff it travels. I did buy a new organizing bag from Thirty-One Gifts that I'm using specifically for dolly art though so hopefully that helps.

Years ago my son got me hooked on computer games. In the game, I always state that there are only 3 things I do well in the game ... color coordinate my armor, die, and get lost.

Being lost is a constant and chronic condition for me. The only difference with being lost in real life is that generally I know where I am ... I know where I'm supposed to be ... the two places just aren't matching up at the moment. There for, I'm not technically lost ... I am merely misplaced.

I find getting physically "lost" is a wonderful adventure! You see new things, new people, find new restaurants and new roads. And, I always end up back where I started! I am incapable of really getting lost. Must be because my mom could lose her way in a paper bag. Someone HAD to know where we were and how to get back home. That had been my job from the time I was 3 and mama learned to drive! LOL
whenever we moved to a new city I would take the kids and the car and we would just start out and go until it started to get dark. Then I would just turn the car "home". Maybe the car has been the one who isn't lost! LOL

Whoo hooo... its almost time girls! Just sent in my last check in photos. I am hoping that it will be sunny here within the next few days so I can take some nice pictures to remember baby by for my photo album. Im excited for baby to go home to mommy. EEEEEKKKKKKK.... I cant wait! I hope mommy loves baby as much as I do

Yep. almost time! I have to send early since I am in Canada. Now the nerves start LOL...will she like baby....OMG, I hope she likes it!!! There's just one more final touch I have to add to the going home outfit!!!
