Subject: My poor furbaby.. Tue 3 Apr 2012 - 0:06
My lab hurt herself pretty badly the other day, she had a huge and deep laceration on her abdomen near her left leg almost a foot long! We rushed her immediately to the emergency vet and they stitched her up. Well today she had to go back to the vet and get restitched because she was picking at them and the emergency vet didn't do a very good job stitching her up to begin with. Now she's back to square one healing and at least she has a cone on her head. All prayers are welcome. We just want her to make a full and quick recovery, bless her heart.
ladies, I really worry about her, she's 6 years old and lazy so at least she isn't active enough for me to worry about her tearing them that way. Hopefully she'll recover soon.
Oh Jody, I remember one of my dogs having this same kind of injury! We had a water spigot sticking up out of the ground about 6 inches and she was running and playing and ran over it and it caught the inside of her leg at her thigh and tore it right open all the way across her thigh. I rushed her to the vet, he stitched it up and put a cone on her head. Poor thing looked so funny with it but it worked to help the stitches heal and she was good as new very soon after.
ladies. Also Karen thanks for sharing your story, gives me hope that she'll make a full recovery as well. I always get so scared when something happens to my dogs lol can't imagine how I'm going to be when I have kids yikes!
