My Daughter in Hospital in Chile

Had a phone call from my daughter last night to inform me she was in hospital in Santiago, Chile. They were due to fly home to Australia in a day or so, now she cannot fly for at least another 5 days. She had appendicitis and had them removed a few hours ago. Michael rang me at 3.30am to tell me she got through surgery ok and was in recovery. That would have been about 1.30pm ET. Thank goodness they had travel insurance as she is a medical student and her b/f is a student doctor doing his internship so neither are on a large income. She was to have cooked a birthday dinner for me next weekend, now she will still be trying to get home instead. I am just glad it happened in a better location than their last holiday, at least the medical service is better where she is now. It could have been worse, it could have happened on the flight home and caused them to burst.

Oh no the poor thing! Hope she recovers quickly and will be back home soon.

Thanks girls. The worst feeling is wanting to be there but knowing you can't. Not only can I not afford to go, by the time I got permission from the trustees of my bankruptcy to go and got an emergency passport she will be home anyway. So all I can do is think of her and talk to her when I can.

Well I am sorry to hear about your daughter but I am happy that she is safe now, that is a bad thing to have happen and I know your are glad she is getting the medical attention she needs. I just hate it when those mishaps come along but will send up a prayer for her and the family.
