Birthday Swap!

Tanya and I set up a birthday swap after we discovered we were exactly 5 months apart. My birthday is January 18, 1975 and hers is June 18, 1975! I got my birthday package from her in the mail today and she spoiled me rotten!!!! Thank-you SO much Tanya, everything is AWESOME, and I am a lucky girl!



I got a crocheted outfit for both my keepers Luke and Leia, a matching headband for Leia and matching hat for Luke. Little shoes for each of them, chocolate and goodies, a wonderful birthday card, and some Slumberland mohair (it's the perfect color for Leia, so I'll be using it for her!) There was also a lovely crocheted flower in the box. You guys should see Leia's dress in person, it is exquisite! I loved that she put an orange butterfly on Leia's dress! I'll be adding a white tutu to Leia's dress, much like I did for a couple other gorgeous dresses that Tanya has made. And Luke's outfit is so adorable, I just want to cuddle him all day! I especially love that adorable little hat!

Thanks Kym! Despite having to see my MIL today at Grandma's funeral, today was better than I thought it'd be. Getting this awesome package from Tanya is a BIG reason why it's been good.

OK if we are doing birthday numbers can any one beat mine.......I was born at 7 am on 7th day of the 7th month, 1937
making four 7's in my birthday date, but still 7 is not my lucky number.

I just can't stop looking at my birthday gifts from Tanya! I'm excited to get started on painting Luke & Leia. I'm hoping I can treat myself to the advanced Peaches and Cream eBook as a birthday present because that's the skin tone I want to use for my twins.

My birthday is also on the 23rd of March. I will be 51 this year I was born in 1961.

Looks like you did well for your birthday Rachel, very nice gifts from Tanya I turned 38 this past November and was born in 1973 , I HATE my birthday anymore cause it just means getting older Happy Birthday Rachel and early Happy Birthday Tanya

Usually, birthdays are pretty disappointing because A.) I'm getting older and B.) I rarely get anything super thrilling. Well, yesterday when Tanya's package came changed that!!

When my kids were little, I really couldn't afford to give them parties and such so I would ask them what they wanted for dinner on their birthday. Could be anything they wanted and the whole family would have to eat it. They really liked this idea. My oldest always picked liver and the middle one would always pick pasta. Neither one liked the other's choice so it worked out well and they thought it was super special. Now that they are grown up, I don't know if they will continue that or not but when I told Robin when we first got together about that, she decided that was a great idea and promptly told me what she wanted for dinner for her birthday.

Birthdays aren't always about the gifts or the age. Its about doing something special on your special day. Maybe its just an hour of ME time, perhaps its a favorite dinner, perhaps its something else. Just make the most of your day.

March 3rd is a good day, it was my Aunt's birthday and is my husband and grandson's birthday. Special people born on that day.

Karen, my mom used to do that too. I always picked hot dogs, because that's what I liked best when I was a kid. She also let us pick what type of cake she made and I always picked chocolate. My husband (what a sweetheart) continues the cake tradition and makes me the same chocolate cake and frosting for my birthday every year. Today, he took me to one of my favorite restaurants for lunch and then to JoAnn's. Tonight for dinner we're going to have Little Ceasar's pan pizza because I've been craving it for years and they've finally brought it back! So, it truly has been MY day today.

Let's see......1975... didn't have a baby in 75......but was nursing Sarah all year and also was pregnant for the last four months with Mary.

Congratulations all you 1975 babies! You were the light of your Mama's eyes I am sure!

Did they really? I'm sure glad I no longer have to make that stuff, though!(yes, I was an assistant manager at Little Caesar's in the early 90s)

Thanks, Tiondra! Yeah, Little Caesar's brought back the pan pizza but it's not the same. It was good, but not quite the same.

Rachel, the pan pizza at little caesar's was the same dough as the regular pizza but hand pressed into a pan that was coated with corn meal. That was the only difference between the two pizzas.

No, I mean the pan/deep dish they have now is different than the way they used to make it. They cut it like a round pizza in wedges instead of squares and the cheese didn't bubble up at the edges as much as it used to. The way they cut it now gives you less corners, which is the best part of a pan/deep dish, because off the bubbly "crust" of cheese. Still, it was good. It probably would have tasted better if I hadn't just had cake and ice cream about 2 hours before!

Oh I see...wonder why they got rid of the square pans?

Wow this is an old topic! I sent Tanya her birthday gift, but she was spending about a month with her family out of the country so she probably hasn't gotten back to post up pictures. Her favorite colors are lavendar, pink, and white. I made some outfits for her keeper, Shyann.
