My son's 7th Birthday

He did have a great day and he loved all his gifts. Whenever he'd see something Spiderman he'd say he wanted it for his birthday! I cataloged a few of them in my mind and we went back later and got them. He was so delighted to see that we had remembered what he asked for! (I love it when they're young, it's easy to please them...10 years from now...ugh!)

I'm actually surprised I got that shot, because our digital camera is usually so slow, it takes the picture after the action is all over.

Wait til he becomes a teenager...they change their minds every hour about what they want. I spent 3 months finding the movies and music I heard my daughter telling others that she wanted so badly. She hasn't opened them since her birthday...she says they are out now and not popular anymore. My ten yr old daughter is already changing her mind about what theme she wants for her birthday party. I'm glad I didn't buy any of the decorations yet. lol

Yeah, I think for the last 5 birthdays the theme has been Spiderman!

Rachel, I love it when they are this age and they show such a big beautiful smile when they are so happy. That cake looks so yummy!

Thank-you ladies. It's funny, because you all are the first time anyone has said that he looks like me, because most people say he's the spitting image of his Dad. I'm glad to know I have some influence in his cuteness.

Barb, that cake was yummy (too yummy!!). I scratch made the frosting (the chocolate I turned black by adding blue food coloring to it). There is a box mix white layer (the best I've had so far, and I can't find a scratch mix that compares) and a scratch made chocolate layer that, in my opinion, is the BEST cake ever!

He is so cute! And that is so funny about Spiderman. My oldest loved pirates and every single birthday until he was too old and cool for it was pirate themed. It became exhausting trying to find a new way to put a spin on a pirate party.

Yeah, Shannon, that's kind of the way it is with Spiderman! I don't mind it too much though because we can re-use the decorations that way! I have a Spiderman cake pan, but I just wanted to do something different this year. This is what the cake looks like:
