lol Karen! Though, Orange Blossom Nursery isn't a bad name either. I know, the babies I create in my Orange Grove Nursery can be called Orange Blossoms!

I'm excited about my Harry winning in his category. I put a lot of work into the costume while I waited for all of my reborning supplies. I embroidered the Gryffindor crest on his robe by hand, I learned how to knit so I could make the scarf myself, I made a magnetic wand for him to hold (or not), I even made his pet owl Hedwig. Of course I made all the clothes: shirt, sweater, tie, pants, robe, socks, shoes, hat...

I'm working on a Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger also, but I knew I wouldn't have them finished enough to enter them in the contest with Harry, so I just focused on Harry. Now that everyone knows which contest baby is mine, I can share my progress on Ron & Hermione too.


Oh, and I wanted to say thank-you to Lorrie for putting this contest together, it was so much fun coming up with a character to enter! Though, it was hard narrowing down the choices to just one!

Congratulations Rachel on your baby Harry Potter. That sculpt was a very good likeness to the real Harry, loved your outfit and props, very clever, so cute! And you even learned how to knit! Job well done!

I haven't painted Hermione yet because she's the one I got fabric dye from her socks on. I have a new set of Moby legs coming from BB (seconds) so once they come I can get her painted. I have her costume mostly done. I just need to embroider Ron's and Hermione's robes, and knit scarves for them too. Oh, and I need to make their wands.

I'll try to take pictures of them the way they are. Ron is just needing rooting, but I did pencil in some hair.

I went and took some newer pictures of Ron. Here he is with his pet, Scabbers (I didn't make it, but I will repaint the eyes and tongue, it was a Halloween decoration!) His eyes aren't glued in yet, and I haven't backed his nose, I'll do that after his rooting is finished. I also need to adjust the sweater a bit, because I made it before I had the kit, and his head is too big!

Rachel, the other two Potter characters are so cute! Will you root the girl's long hair or put a wig on the baby? Those school uniforms are so sweet. I love The Baby Ron, cute red head!

I plan to sparsely root Hermione's (the girl) head like a baby. I prefer the look of rooting, and I don't want to root that much hair, so I'm going for the baby look.

Harry is Trey by Michelle Fagan I bought from Joy.
Hermione is Moby by Marissa May from Lyn in trade for sewing her Oliver an outfit.

As a side note: My Ron's eyebrows don't really look that bright in real life...they match more closely with the colored pencil I used on his head, but for some reason they photographed weird. It was dark and I just had him sitting on my bed, so they're not great pics by any means.
