| Hi Everyone,
I have just joined the forum. I live in Australia and have been reborning for almost a year now. I am a Mum to 3 girls and one angel boy in heaven. I took lessons a year ago and have spent the rest of the year creating lots of babies practising what I learnt! I would love to take some of Lara's classes, particularly the just born class. I would also love to learn how to create realistic painted hair which I have not attempted yet! Is it harder than it looks?
Thanks Kym

| Welcome Kym, you have come to the right place for painted hair. Lara's lessons are swesome and she makes them easy for all to understand. It is great to have another Aussie on board. What part of Aus? I am in Sydney. | |

| Thank you all for the welcome messages! I will definately look at buying some of Lara's Ebooks. At the moment I am working 4 days a week so having the classes this way I can do them when I have time which is usually at night when the girls go to bed! I have been a little scared to give the painted hair a go in case I ruin a beautiful little head! I think I'm probably too critical of my own work too which doesn't help when trying new techniques etc. Lyn, I live in Brisbane, Queensland. I wish reborning was as big here as it is in the U.S. and U.K! It would be so much cheaper if we had the range of supplies available locally lol. Thanks again Kym | |

| Kym, try first using the prisma pencils and paper, and also try the paints on paper before progressing toa head. Lara tells you tips like that in her class on hair painting, well worth getting the ebook and dvd.
I agree we need more local suppliers for bits and pieces, but we are starting to get a few good sculptors now with Bonnie Brown, Jade Warner, Beth Downing, Di McGavigan who are all aussies, and of course Debbie over in NZ. Jade is just about to release 14" triplets, sh ehas them for pre-order now. | |

| Hi Lyn,
Thanks for the great tips! Lara's painted hair class in one I will definately take! I think it will be much harder to acheive realistic results than rooting mohair!
I just looked at Jade's triplets and they are adorable chubby little things! I love the little premmies! I'm looking forward to seeing BB's new kits too. I have a very long wishlist already though lol.
Take care Kym | |

| Hi Sarah,
I just love your Teddy! He is adorable! or should I say she sorry? Did you complete her with Lara's just born class?
Do you have good reborn suppliers in NZ or do you buy lots from the US and UK?
Take care Kym | |

| Thanks Kym, I did reborn her using the just born class, I learned sooo much... I still have to root some hair which I don't enjoy! We have one main supplier of reborn items here in NZ and I actually find it cheaper to order from the US unless I just want a pair of eyes or something small then it's not worth getting from overseas with the shipping. Just a pair of eyeco eyes costs nearly $20 NZD here! Hardly any kits are sold here too, so I buy all of mine from the US or from Lyns reborn world in Aussie if she has a sale. Do you buy from the US? | |

| Hi again Sarah,
You have done a wonderful job of her. She is very sweet! I know rooting can be a pain. That's probably why none of my babies have had a full head of hair lol. My girls were practically bald when they were born so to me it's probably only natural to give my reborns just a nice fine amount of hair.
I do buy a lot from Bountiful Baby in the US but have bought elsewhere too. There is a lady opening up a reborn supply business in Brisbane very soon so I may end up buying alot from her in the future. Will be nice being able to go to her shop and pick up my supplies rather than pay a fortune for postage.
Take care Kym | |

| Welcome to REAL, Kym! The next time you order from BB, check to see if they have any practice heads then you won't have to feel guilty for practicing hair painting on it! | |

| Hi Karen,
That's a great idea. I will be sure and add one or two to my order next time! I have a feeling painted hair is going to be harder than it looks lol.
Take care Kym | |
