2014 Mother's Day Baby Swap!!

I already sent mine, but I think I'll send one today, just to be sure.   

You all are so far ahead of me! I'm only about 1/2 done with painting. But in all fairness ... I've had two "never again" lessons in the last two weeks. Hopefully I'll remember I'm saying never again ... when I get the brilliant idea to agree to make drapes for a girl friend's new house ... and when I get the even more star studdedly (according to spell check that's not a word! lol) brilliant idea to root a head as big as Hailey from BB.

Swear to heaven I don't know how people do those toddler heads!! From now on a head that big is getting a wig slapped on and they will be HAPPY with it!!

And btw ... to put in perspective how big she is ... that's a regular infant bouncy seat she's trying to sit in. She is one seriously 'ginormous' baby!

I'm going to be rooting a pretty big head soon for a commission, Ella-Mae by Jannie deLange. But, I keep telling myself if I can thickly root Sweet Pea awake, Ella-Mae isn't that much bigger...at least, that's what I keep telling myself!

Good luck with that Rachel!!! I told myself the same thing about Hailey. I rooted Cookie and didn't remember her being a problem, so how hard could Hailey be? But Hailey makes Cookie look like a newborn.

When do we send them out?

They need to be sent out by April 30th. I hope can start rooting this weekend too!!!

Barb is right. But if you look at the first page, it will tell you all the check points and when they should be shipped too.

The earliest would be like the last week in April. If you have a conflict about when you'll be able to send or receive just contact me and we'll set something up!

Half way finished baby's hair. Whew! Almost there   

My baby's skin tone is done, now to finish up the hair, sew the body, and assemble!   

Finishing up baby's hair tonight! Eeeekkk! Can't wait to put this little one together. So cute!

I'm working on sewing baby's body tonight. I can't wait to see this one come together too!

    

A baby was born this morning! All put together waiting for Mommy! I can't wait for baby's outfit to come in. Excited to take pictures   Will take pictures and send to you, Sharon once I have baby's outfit ready and the weather is sunny enough for good lighting.  I really like how baby turned out. Soooo adorable. Going to be sad to see baby go. Baby is very sweet! Hoping my swap partner loves him/her as much as I do   

My baby is done too. I'm having a hard time not adding stuff to go with him/her. I keep finding things when out shopping that would look so sweet on this one.   

That's how I've ended up with two closets full of baby clothes ... so now I just take the kid with me to see what fits and what color looks best. The ladies at my Carters store know me by sight now. And can tell who I'm shopping for! Used to be that my grand daughter was in the newborn to 9 month sizes but now the clerks know if I'm buying something over 18 month size it's for my grand daughter ... not a doll.

Course I confused them a bit when I finished Hailey ... she is one GINORMOUS baby!!

Well I am slow but finally got baby all painted and baby is adorable.........I am in love already!!! I already have a cute layette planned for this little one   

I'm getting so excited to see all of the adorable babies! I hope mommy will love the baby I'm creating for her. I think s/he is a cutie.   

I too am excited to see all the box openings! Can't wait to ship baby out to new mommy!!! Still have to do a photoshoot though. Haven't had the time yet.

Oh my gosh! I got my baby's outfit today and just dressed baby and he/she is sooooo precious. I don't know about anyone else, but I always have to find the perfect colored outfit for my baby, and always have to buy and try them on to see which one looks best before I can decide   This outfit is so adorable. Cant wait to take pictures.

I FINALLY got my babies rooting finished today!! I have gotten behind with everything going on here. Some of you dont know, but I have a family member on hospice right now. She is my sister in laws mom, but she is still a much loved part of my life. We were told that she will not be with us much longer, and so between taking care of dad, Mark, and mom in law (who took a fall this week, and I needed to call 911) my hubby getting ready for major oral surgery on his jaw, my mother coming up for a week from alabama to visit....... little to no sleep for me, I have been trying to visit with Tammy, and to make sure she knows how much I love her, and helping her come to terms with what has been happening to her ( night terrors, seeing things) and just trying to comfort her as much as I can. Im shocked that after this last two weeks, that im even sane at this point. Please keep me in your prayers, as well as my family. I'm hanging in there. I AM taking care of myself (eating right, trying to sleep when I can, excercising, and having massage therapy). I think God put in my heart to do this swap..... to help keep my mind busy on something else. I havent really felt like reborning because of everything going on, but I KNOW for SURE...my partner will appreciate, and feel all of the love Ive poured into her baby :)

Tina you, your family and Tammy are in my thoughts and prayers! Since I read that your sister in law was very ill you all have been in my prayers daily   Just lean on God , He will give you the strength you need. You and your family have been on my heart so I pray when that happens. Stay strong and know that God is with you all.

Thank you michelle. We are taking it a day at a time right now. It isn't my sister in law (michelle) who is ill, but her mother (Tammy) who is. She is only 48 years old.

Since I have never done a baby swap before I'm curious if we are suppose to name the baby or do we leave it blank and let the new Mommy name him/her?

Its really up to you. I always include a birth certificate. I usually just put the kit name on my birth certificates. Or you can just leave it blank and let the mommy fill it in.

I like to take the kit name (if it fits the baby's gender) and put it with the new mommy's last name. Of course, I did a Halloween swap once with a BB Dakota, but his Halloween costume was Frankenstein's Monster, so I named him "Frankie".    I like to include an adoption certificate with my swap babies just like I do with the ones I sell.

Well in my case...I most certainly can not...use the kits name      I will either name baby, or let mommy do it!!

   LOL...I know....right? My baby is complete, and everything is ready to be packed for travels to the new mommy!!!! Something to be very excited about, which is something I've been needing.

  How fun! I can't wait to see all these babies! My baby's momma is going to go into labor on Friday.   

My mommy should be having some contractions now. Baby is about to go into her body and clothes to be photographed tomorrow! So excited!!!! Can't wait to see pictures of everyone's masterpieces coming to life!!!

I am getting nervous now! What if my baby's Mommy doesn't bond with it or doesn't even like it!    Yikes! Can't be thinking like that!

I am also so nervous that my babies Mommy isn't going to like the baby. This is my first baby swap and I'm also very new to reborning. I really don't know what to expect.

My babies Mommy should be having a few contractions... baby is all ready and getting pictures and boxed up in the morning. I am sooooooooo nervous.

Relax ladies, as long as you put love into your babies, their new mommies will love them!   

I know someone who went into labor this afternoon!!!! I cant wait!!!
