Prayers Please

I have been out of commission for a while...

My friend of 35 years is so very, very sick. She has had Crohn's since the '70's and had a large portion of her bowel removed then. Thank goodness, no colostomy. She has problems from time to time and also developed Diverticulitis.
She now is having liver and gallbladder problems. She has been in the hospital for 6 weeks now. She has been having ups and downs. They need to remove the gallbladder, but she hasn’t been strong enough for surgery. Many less evasive procedures have been done. Finally the stones have passed, but she has sepsis and is losing ground quickly. They just can't seem to get the infection under control. She was getting better, but the last 3 days have been bad again. They are starting dialysis today in hopes that it will help purify her blood and give her a pick me up. Please send LOTS of healing prayers for her.

Oh, Kathy...I am so sorry for your friend! I will definately lift her up in prayer, as well as her friends and family, who no doubt need prayer also.

Yes, she has 2 older children and has hosted several exchange students which 2 have remained in close contact. on is now living in Hawaii and has been here for a week. She had to leave today. So hard for her to have to go. It has been a very emotional time for them all.

Kathy I will send lots of prayers. I have Crohn's disease and I know how horrible it can be living with this mess. I hope and pray that they can get her infection under control and she improves very soon. Please let her know a fellow Crohnie is thinking and praying for her. I don't know about her, but it always helped me knowing there was a fellow Crohnie thinking of me. Give her big hugs from me! Please keep us up to date on her condition!

Crohn's is a horrible horrible disease.

Thank you all...I don't know what else to do for her at this point, but to ask for more prayers! She was moved to a different hospital last Friday. She now is 1 1/2 hours away. That makes it tougher knowing it takes so long to get there if things go bad. She just doesn't seem to be improving. She is such a great, fun, witty person...it's just so hard to see her beaten down like this.

I'm sorry...I haven't been on for a while. My friend passed September 10th. We were so hopeful...I guess God has a better plan for her. It has been very hard, as I miss her immensely. Each day is a new journey.

Thanks to everyone for all your thoughts and prayers. Please, continue to send prayers for her family and friends... to ease the grief and heal as soon as possible.

Kathy, I am so sorry. It is so very hard to lose someone so close and dear to you. You and her family are in my prayers. Thank goodness we have our memories of good, happy times to ease our pain and help us through the grieving here in our Earthly state...because she is no longer in pain and is in a very beautiful place in the arms of God. I just, belatedly, found this post. I'm sorry for your loss and grateful that she had a such a good friend as you are. It's never easy to lose someone we love and it is especially hard when you know they suffer. The only blessing is she did get some time to say goodbye.

I have a niece who has this disease and I had no idea it could be so severe and that is another reason to thank you for sharing.

May God comfort you in your loss and may angels support all who loved her.

Thank you so much...I miss her so much! Today I started on 2 babies. I haven't done any as I took the summer off and was going to start up in September. But with Lori in the hospital and then her death, I just haven't had the time or the passion to do it.

Kathy I am so sorry about the loss of your friend.
I haven't been keeping up well with the boards due to trying to get ready for a craft show that didn't happen for me.
Anyway...I am truly sorry for the hole in your life now. But am really glad to know that you are back doing babies.
I think they will comfort you with their own little healing gifts.
My grandson Jacob who is 15 has had Crohn's since he was 9. It is a horrible disease that requires such careful care. Your friend sounds like she was a wonderful person.
