My kalysta is going back to the Dr today

She fell lastnight when her crutch hit something. She ended up putting full weight on her ankle with the torn muscle. It swelled more and a buldge was very obvious! Her foot has been swelling along with her ankle, tingling issues and color changes, kind of a deep red color, like when you cut off circulation but nothing is....so off we go again! I PRAY she hasnt further damaged her ankle!! Pray for her please!! I will update when I get back home with her!

Sarah Beth, I'll be praying for Kalysta that she doesn't have further damage. I think I'll add in a few prayers asking God to make her not so accident prone while she heals, too.

Oh, I hope the extra swelling is just from the accidental weight bearing last night. My only suggestion, that you are probably already doing; is to sit down and elevate the leg on pillows. Hope you get positive news from the doctor! It is hard to keep a good girl down!

Owww, that makes me cringe just reading about it! How is she now Sarah? I hope her ankle is going to be fine

OK, well the Dr is sending her to a specialist. SHe wants an MRI so they can see exactly where and what is damaged and how. She is worried she may have damaged it further when she fell and wants to see if she will need any surgery to fix it. Her foot and ankle are so swollen
We are praying for a quick appt with the specialist and pray that she wont need surgery! Her special boot comes in tomorow, thank goodness!!
I just hate that she cant have any other pain meds! Tylenol and advil doesnt alwayshelp when your in school and moving all day!
Thanks ladies for the prayers, and Karen, please do pray those extras 'safe' prayers!! LOL Of course, it doesnt help that she is active and adventerous! Guess where i found her earlier, on the TREADMILL with her crutches, making a video with her bestfriend! And THIS is why my girl gets herself hurt alot!! LOL

Our friend's little girl(8 yrs old) just broke her arm in 2 places. Complete breaks, one above her elbow and one under her elbow. She had to have surgery and they put pins in her arm. She broke her arm by falling off the monkey bars at school and she tried to stop her fall. I am very close to this little one and it just breaks my heart.

Sarah Beth, I'll make sure I say those extra prayers for both these girls!

Oh Sarah Beth, when is it all going to end, I feel for you and kalysta. Perhaps we all need to invest in a cottonwool factory and send a bundle to you on a regular basis for her.

I remember how much trouble I got in with my mom when she found out I'd been playing crack the whip at school with my broken arm. But honestly ... the only place I could be was the end of the whip!! I mean come on ... a cast on one arm means I could only hold one hand, right?

Lyn I told her we were gonna buy a truck load of bubble wrap for her to wear!!! lol

Sarah, We will be praying! I tore my achilles tendon last May and I know how painful that was and how long it took me to get over it. Hope she didn't damage it any further. Did they show you how to check her pedal pulse?
