Feeling scared....

I had a sore breast back in February so I went to the Dr about it and she said that it was possibly because I had stopped breastfeeding a month earlier and told me to come back in a few months time to see if it had gone away by itself... well I went back today and the lump is still there, plus two more lumps Now I have to wait for a letter telling me when my appointment to see the specialist will be. I have also been having bad cramps after eating dinner and it's been getting worse lately, so I am going to get some blood tests done - she is wondering if it is gallstones.... I feel like my body is going downhill!! I am trying not to worry

Praying for you Poppy that it will be nothing serious. I know it must be very scary for you.

I have something called fibrocystic breasts-hopefully that is what is going on with you-quite common-multiple lumps in breasts which are of no concern. You can look it up and read on it. And hopefully your stomach is from being nervous about lumps in breasts. Did stomach problems start before or after you found lumps in breasts?

I'm praying for you Poppy. Yes stress can upset the digestive system. I know it seems simple, but I get great help from eating celery. Which is also great for high blood pressure.

I had my first fibrocystic sp? lump at age 27. Had my first mammogram then It's still there 38 years later. It used to be sore, especially after mammograms. Then I switched to the digital painless mammograms and I don't really notice it any more.

Yes I was upset and scared too. If it is sore or tender to the touch then take heart - that is a good sign I think.

I will be praying for you also and to add to the posts on fibroids I have more than one and only had to have one removed. IT even had fingers off of it like cancer. When I went into surgery they told me they were 99.99 % sure it was cancer. It turned out to be a fibroid, Thank God, which never turn into cancer. Hugs and you have so much in your life right now I sure hopr you get the fibroid diagnosis and maybe your stomach will settle then.

I can imagine why you'd be scared. I wonder if your stomach has anything to do with irritable bowel syndrome? Basically, you wear your emotions in your gut so to speak. I have it to a degree, when I get nervous/scared/excited about something (stress -good or bad) my gutt starts getting unhappy. I wonder if the lumps are just fatty lumps or blocked ductes? I have a fatty lump in my left forearm just below the inside of my elbow. My Dad has one and had it checked by a doctor and they told him it was just a lump of fat, but to keep checking to make sure it didn't grow in size. I've had mine for years and it's always been the same size. It sure is strange though. I'll be praying for you that everything works out to be nothing at all.

Hi Sarah there sounds like quite a few of us have had this issue take heart my lumps were cysts one they took out years ago, now they just drain them.

Keep your chin up you do have so many good things coming your way

Thank you ladies - I am hoping it is fibro-cystic also.. my mum has had that since her early 30's, so perhaps it is genetic? I will keep you all updated and I will try not to worry too much.

Hi Poppy/Sarah..... heads up prayers are coming your way. I have fibrocystic breast disease....and boy at times they do hurt. My doctor says caffeine makes things worse, I take a night blooming primrose oil, and it seems to help.

Thank you Tina - one of the lumps hurts a little on and off through the day, but the other two I didn't even know were there? I just wish they could see me today - I don't like the waiting!! Do you know if having fibrocystic disease increases chances of cancer?

Sarah, don't be scared right now , I think its going to turn out to be from breast feeding for a long period of time, I went through the same thing when I was young.. Rarely does the ladys who breastfeed get anything serious in the breast or at least this is what I understand. I think its going to be milk glands drying up or something like fibrosystic breast. I am keeping you in my prayers but truly feel its going to be okay.

((((Sarah))))) I will say a prayer for you. I also think it is unlikely to be something serious especially since you just weaned. My friend also saw her doctor because she was having a pain in her breast, and Dr said that the pain was actually a good indicator it WAS NOT breast cancer, as breast cancer is usually painless in the early stages. I hate that Drs make us wait to get appointments especially when it is something scary. Truthfully I say to call and harass the offices until you get an appointment....squeaky wheel gets the grease you know? :)

ladies .... I thought I updated this? Perhaps I did on another thread... I had an ultrasound and it showed three cysts, but they didn't look to be sinister. I had my follow up appointment with the specialist two weeks ago and he said that they need to check the bigger cyst, but are 95% sure it will be fine. So I have my biopsy tomorrow morning, I am soooo nervous!!

Poppy, feeling scared is natural, and over this last week I know what that is like......but take it from me it is useless, nothing we can do about it all but go with the flow. I know that feeling, then I shook my head and said hey I didn't want this, but I am going to do everything I have to to get better. I am not ready even at 75 to give up. Had the hospital chaplin come in and we had a great talk, even found out we were both from Tasmania......small world......but talking to a stranger was good.

They were fantastic in the hospital, even though they were waking me every 2 hours to take my bloos sugars because they were low........have been good since I came home.

So Poppy just remember your family and how important they are to you, (I know mine gathering around me raised my spirits) so look on the positive side, YOU WILL GET THROUGH what ever happens, and I think you will be fine......at least my wishes are for that.

Trish, that's really sweet of you... I am so relieved that you are ok now, I hope you are getting better and feeling a lot more like yourself again, we missed you!!

I have a couple of doctor appointments this week and the result of the Ultrasound of the heart, we will then know more, but the 2 men that I live with (my hubby ans SON) are like a hen with a chic, me being the chick......actually it feels real good. even if annoying at time.

BOL luck with your bi-opsy.........I MAY have told you but I thought DRACULA had moved in with me....but hey I am still here and they can work wonders these days

ladies - the biopsy was ok, I was so nervous!! They drained two of the cysts and have sent it away for testing, I will let you know the results next week. Best of luck with your appts this week Trish, hope it's all good news!
